2012 Subaru Impreza in Ontario, Oregon - Boise, Idaho
The 2012 Subaru Impreza continues to be a consistent and key player on the Subaru team. The Impreza, an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick for three consecutive years, continues to be a standout in the compact vehicle segment. So far this year, sales are on pace with last year and we are confident of its potential for the 2012 Model year.
For the 2012MY, the starting prices of all Impreza non-turbo models - the 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, and Outback Sport - are the same as last year. We continue offering class-leading value with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and Impreza carries
on as the top selling AWD vehicle in its segment. Two new colors for 2012MY, Marine Blue Pearl and Sky Blue Metallic, expand the color selection on Impreza 2.5i models. Newport Blue is phased out.
The well-equipped Impreza 2.5i Sedan maintains an aggressive starting price of $17,495, and the 5-door is
available starting at $17,995. Like all normally-aspirated Impreza models, the 2.5i comes with our 2.5-liter SOHC horizontally-opposed boxer engine with i-Active Valve Lift System. This engine kicks out an impressive 170 hp @ 6,000 rpm. All Impreza models feature the active safety of Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Vehicle Dynamics Control and Traction Control System as standard equipment.
The Impreza 2.5i Premium Sedan still has a starting price of only $18,495 - the 5-door is $18,995. The Premium adds alloy wheels, leather wrapped shifter and steering wheel, and audio control switches on the steering wheel. The audio system for Premium and Outback Sport models is upgraded for the '12MY, and now includes standard Bluetooth Audio Streaming and Bluetooth Hands-Free Connectivity, standard USB port with iPod control capability, a single-disc CD Player with MP3/WWA capability and 6 upgraded speakers.
The Special Edition Package on the Impreza 2.5i Premium is renamed the Power Moonroof Value Package for the '12MY, and still includes the All-Weather Package, fog lights, and power moonroof for a net retail price of just $500 (that is reflected on the Monroney as a retail value of $1,850 with a discount of $1,350).
Through May of this year, Outback Sport sales volume has increased 6% compared to last year and we are on pace to have our best year with this model since 1999! To build on that momentum, the Outback Sport will continue with an attractive starting price of $19,995 and include standard 17-inch alloy wheels, raised suspension, fog lights, All-Weather Package, and cargo tray among many upgraded features.
New for the 2012MY, Camellia Red Pearl and Sage Green Metallic will be offered as monotone exterior colors on the Outback Sport. Paprika Red Pearl and Sage Green Metallic are discontinued as two-tone exterior colors. Obsidian Black two-tone, Marine Blue two-tone, and Steel silver two-tone complete the Outback Sport color line up.
Later this year, a new navigation system will be available as an option for Impreza 2.5i Premium and Outback Sport models. This system will feature an attractively priced TomTom® Navigation System that is both removable and portable. We anticipate this feature will be available beginning in November. Additional details and pricing will be announced later this summer.
